Filed: 1/20/15 Issued: 1/21/20 An absorbent article having a vertical direction and a lateral direction intersecting the vertical direction, the absorbent article comprising: an absorbent main body provided along the vertical direction and configured to absorb excreta; an abdominal-side band member provided along the lateral direction, the abdominal-side band member having a central portion in the lateral direction fixed to one end part of the absorbent main body in the vertical direction, while covering the one end part from a non-skin side of the absorbent main body; and a back-side band member provided along the lateral direction as a member different from the abdominal-side band member, the back-side band member having a central portion in the lateral direction fixed to an other end part of the absorbent main body in the vertical direction, while covering the other end part from the non-skin side of the absorbent main body, wherein the back-side band member has a length in the vertical direction longer than a length of the abdominal-side band member in the vertical direction, each of the abdominal-side band member and the back-side band member has an elastic member disposed thereto along the lateral direction, the elastic member being configured to expand and contract along the lateral direction, the abdominal-side band member and the absorbent main body overlap each other at an abdominal-side overlap portion, the abdominal-side overlap portion including at least a part where the elastic member of the abdominal-side band member is disconnected, the back-side band member has a substantially rectangular shape in a plan view, the elastic member of the back-side band member continuously extends in the lateral direction, and the elastic member of the abdominal-side band member discontinuously extends in the lateral direction.
